Facilitate trainees to learn the principles and practices of EMDR therapy and to become proficient in their use
Prepare trainees to integrate EMDR therapy into their clinical practice
Towards these ends, the training will include a combination of interactive theoretical input, demonstration, skills practise, supervision and case consultation.
The training will take place in three modules of 2.5 days each – Friday 3.00pm to 7.30pm; Saturday and Sunday, 9.00am to 5.00pm. The dates for the Cork 2020 training are January 24th to 26th, 2020; May 8th to 10th, 2020; September 4th to 6th, 2020. In conjunction with the main training modules, trainees will receive 12 hours of supervision, case consultation and integration.
The training will be delivered by EMDR Europe Accredited Trainer, Gus Murray, in conjunction with a team of facilitators. The training will take place in the Cork School of Music.
Applicants for the EMDR training must satisfy the eligibility requirements of EMDR Europe. Please consult eligibility requirements here
This training will satisfy the training requirements to enable participants to seek professional accreditation as an EMDR Europe accredited practitioner.

This is payable in response to a letter of offer which you will receive to confirm your place on the training.
Part 1 – (due six weeks before part 1 begins) €370.00

Attendance at all course sessions is a requirement of certification.
Terms and conditions
Everybody is required to pay the non-refundable booking deposit of €120.00 to secure your place. This is payable in response to a letter of offer which you will receive to confirm your place on the training. If you are electing to pay in three instalments, the first payment is due six weeks before the training begins. Payments for parts two and three are due one month before each part begins. If you are electing to pay in full to obtain a discount, your full fee is payable six weeks before the training begins.
If you asked us to invoice a funding body, and you provided the details we need, we will issue the invoice when you accept your place in response to your letter of offer.
If you cancel (must be by post or email) between six and eight weeks before the training, an 80% refund can be made. Cancelling between four and six weeks before the training entitles you to a 50% refund.
No refund is due if you cancel less than four weeks prior to the training. Non-attendance without notification forfeits the fee.
In the unlikely event of training being cancelled, a full refund will be given, or alternative dates arranged.
Gus Murray is an EMDR Europe Accredited Trainer and Consultant with over 25 years’ experience in the use of EMDR therapy. Gus is a highly experienced Counselling and Psychotherapy trainer has been the programme director and lead trainer at the Cork Institute of Technology for over 25 years. He is widely recognised for his capable, dynamic and interactive training style which is endorsed by repeated feedback from participants.
Gus was the recipient of the Carl Berkeley memorial award (2017) from the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the development of the counselling and psychotherapy profession.
Gus is the chairperson of EMDR Ireland National Regional group and represents the Republic of Ireland on the boards of EMDR UK and Ireland and EMDR Europe. He has presented at EMDR conferences and events throughout Ireland, the United Kingdom and Europe. Gus has over 25 years’ experience as a mental health clinician and trainer.
